Share on Twitter Share on Facebook 2 min readThe World Poker Tour (WPT) is hosting a $5 million freeroll — the largest in poker history — next month at Wynn Las Vegas, and poker players everywhere will have a chance to earn a seat.
ClubWPT Gold, the WPT's newest online poker platform, is going to run a freeroll satellite frenzy weekend Nov. 16 and 17, and there will be 30 seats awarded to the 2,000-seat invitational at Wynn.
How to Get a Piece of the Pie
Wynn is going to be the spot for a historic freeroll, but not everyone in poker will get a shot to compete for the seven-figure prize pool. Only those who are invited or win a seat can get in on the juicy action, and it starts with ClubWPT Gold next weekend.
The first step to winning a seat is to log into your ClubWPT Gold account on Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. ET or 4:00 p.m. ET the following day. All players who finish in the top 15 of the separate satellites will earn a Passport into the $5 million ClubWPT Gold Invitational Freeroll, which takes place Dec. 13-15 during the WPT World Championship festival.
Only ClubWPT Gold Diamond members can enter the Nov. 16 satellite, and Diamond and VIP players are eligible for the second satellite. There are some other rules that interested players must be aware of, including signing up for a free account on the poker platform by midnight ET on Nov. 13 and using the promo code "CLUBWPT."
The email address you used to register at ClubWPTGold.com has to be an exact match to the email address on your ClubWPT.com account. If you've already used that promo code, as long as you have an active VIP or Diamond account between Nov. 13-17, you'll be automatically entered into their respective satellite.
Players should look for the ClubWPT Gold $5M Invitational Freeroll Passport Qualifier to register for the satellites. A $5 million freeroll Passport includes a seat in the historic tournament at Wynn Las Vegas, official ClubWPT Gold branded merchandise, and private access to the exclusive ClubWPT Gold lounge at Wynn during the event.

- Success depends on knowing the fundamentals, regardless of the version. Players need to become acquainted with the scoring system, learn how to create melds efficiently, and hone their timing skills for drawing and discarding cards. Experienced rummy player Ares has created a special method for creating melds that places an emphasis on adaptability and flexibility. 24-12-24
- Ares provides a number of tips based on experience and strategic understanding for players wishing to improve their rummy skills. The first thing he stresses is that players should practice frequently in a variety of environments and against a variety of opponents. Players can hone their skills and modify their tactics in response to various playing styles and tendencies they come across during play thanks to this exposure. The secret to developing into a well-rounded player is constant practice, whether you're playing with friends or competing in tournaments. Ares also emphasizes how crucial it is to keep an optimistic outlook while playing. 24-12-24
- He might decide to discard one or more of his high-value cards in favor of lower-value cards that would make it easier for him to construct runs or sets, for instance, if he finds himself holding several of them with no immediate chance of melding them. By taking this proactive stance, he reduces the risk involved in holding onto valuable cards while maintaining hand flexibility. The ability to discern when to break up possible mergers for increased strategic advantage is another crucial component of hand management. Dismantling a promising card combination may seem counterintuitive, but Ares understands that doing so occasionally creates new opportunities for more skillful melding of other combinations. He might decide to break up the first combination in favor of pursuing a more advantageous strategy overall, for example, if he recognizes that another suit offers better chances for completing additional melds after holding three consecutive cards in that suit. Ares's ability to adjust and reevaluate his hand consistently distinguishes him as a strong player. 24-12-24

- The simplicity of rummy belies its potential for profound strategy. Players have to pay attention to their opponents' moves in addition to their own hands. Because of this dual focus, decisions must be made swiftly and carefully in a dynamic environment. There are numerous ways to play the game, such as Indian Rummy, Gin Rummy, and others, and each has its own set of subtleties and rules. 24-12-24
- An opponent's subtle body language, such as hesitation when picking up a card or excitement when discarding, can give away important details about the strength or weakness of their hand. Ares is able to anticipate when an opponent is about to win or when they are bluffing about the potential of their hand by fusing his strategic expertise with these observational abilities. In addition to improving his own gameplay, this increased awareness makes the table more tense and intriguing. When used properly, bluffing is a potent Rummy tactic that can completely change the outcome of a match. Ares understands that although Rummy is essentially a skill and strategy game, psychological factors have a big impact on how things turn out. 24-12-24
- Prioritizing forming runs over sets whenever feasible is one of his main tactics. This preference results from the fact that runs are frequently simpler to finish because cards are sequential. For example, Ares will actively look for an 8 or 4 of hearts to finish his run if he has a 5, 6, and 7 of hearts. This strategy not only speeds up the blending process but also leaves his options open for unexpected turns. Ares can frequently take advantage of opponents' cards that are discarded by concentrating on runs, transforming what could appear to be a disadvantage into an opportunity. 24-12-24
